Find out more about the State Street School
From FTS Coordinator, Beth Carlson: Windsor State Street School has put in two more raised beds, of which one is a pizza garden. We also have approximately .5 acre garden behind the Historic Homes of Runnemede. We’ve planted tomatoes, herbs, potatoes, cucumbers, etc.. The after school and summer programs tend to them. Also, we continue to work closely with the SE State Correctional Facility composting kitchen and lunch room scraps and as recipients of their gardens. There was some great macaroni and cheese served up in the cafeteria thanks to Cabot Creamery and Grafton Village Cheese.

The 5th grade students last spring planted potatoes in a plot made available by Cider Hill Gardens, just two miles up the road from the school. This fall they took a trip over to dig the potatoes, which were then used by Bob, the food service director for Cafe Services, for a school lunch.
